Adoption stories
the meme voice goes away here. these are real animals, real adopters, real after-photos. the part of the work that pays the heart back.

Adopted
Marble
dog · adopted by Allie & Tom
Marble was found tied to a fence post outside a closed gas station in rural Georgia. Second Chance pulled him on a Tuesday. By Saturday he was in a foster home. Six weeks later, Allie and Tom drove four hours to meet him. He climbed into the back seat and slept the whole way home. That was eight months ago. He still naps the same way.

Adopted
Juniper
dog · adopted by The Tran-Olsen family
Juniper came into rescue at three weeks old, alone, the only survivor of a litter that didn't make it. She bottle-fed in foster for a month before she even tried solid food. Now she has two siblings (human), a backyard, and a strict policy on who is allowed on the couch (her).

Adopted
Pippin
cat · adopted by Marisol
Pippin spent eight years in the same shelter. Eight. He was passed over every adoption event because younger, brighter cats were on display next to him. Whiskers & Wags found him during a transfer audit and pulled him the same day. Marisol read his bio and drove down two hours later. He sleeps in her bed now. He purrs like a small engine.

Adopted
Banjo
dog · adopted by Devon
Banjo lost the use of his back legs after a car hit him at six months old. He spent two years in foster waiting for someone willing to learn about expressing bladders, daily PT, and wheelchair fitting. Devon's whole apartment is now ramps and rugs. Banjo doesn't know he's a hard adoption case. He thinks he's the king.
